Hulk Wave 3 on HTS, again

Following up on our discussion earlier today of Hulk Wave 3, it looks as if Hasbro Toy Shop is almost ready to put the figures on the site. Searching for "Hulk" brings up the four new 2-packs, but the listings are still "coming soon", and some of the listings still contain the price typos noticed earlier, and Doc Samson is showing as the boxed pic for Hulk/Skaar. Hasbro, we love you but you can be such a mess!

Grey Hulk/Leader - Price: $16.99*, Availability: Coming Soon, Ages: 3 & Up, Item #: 78460.
Mini but mighty, this two-pack of figures includes the Gray Hulk figure with fists ready to fly and Leader Villain figure, ready to spring into action!

Hulk/Doc Samson - Price: $5.99, Availability: Coming Soon, Ages: 3 & Up Item #: 78462
Mini but mighty, this two-pack of figures includes the Hulk figure with his gritted-tooth grin and Doc Samson figure, showing off his flexed muscles!

Hulk/Son of Hulk (AKA Skaar) - Price: $5.99, Availability: Coming Soon, Ages: 3 & Up, Item #: 78463

Mini but mighty, this two-pack of figures includes the Hulk figure with “torn” t-shirt and the sword-wielding Son of Hulk figure!

Hulk/Zzzax - Price: $14.99*, Availability: Coming Soon, Ages: 3 & Up, Item #: 78461
Mini but mighty, this two-pack of figures includes the Hulk figure ready for smashin’ good fun and Zzzax figure, the “living” lightning bolt!

*Note the clearly erroneous prices.

With the Iron Man repaint packs, Wave 3 of Hulk, and the City in Crisis and Winter Soldier Saga 4-packs all slowly trickling out at about the same time it seems like we're going to have another mini-Super Hero Squad flood.

  • Any word on what's happening with the Sentry/Blade/Electro wave?

I still just find it bizarre that the Hulk figs were announced later and will be coming out earlier than that wave.

Any insight? Is it possible that we'll see a whole Kraven-like disappearance of that set?

  • Yes, I too would like to like to know what is going on with Electro as well.

Also what about City in Crisis: Spider-Man set?

  • Sentry/Blade/Electro wave: when we contacted Hasbro and Hasbro Toy Shop we were basically told 2 things

    (1) the figures were removed from HTS because they didn't have the "inventory necessary to support" the items.

    and

    (2) that they weren't sure when the figures would be available for order.

Since then, however, the major online retailers like Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth put them back up for pre-order, scheduled to ship in September and October respectively. BBTS has already sold out of sets of all four figures, but EE is still selling cases of "Wave 9, Revision 1".

I could never get a more specific answer from Hasbro, and I doubt anyone can. Were those sets post-poned to allow for increased production of sets for the Hulk and Iron Man movie (which get sales boosts from being closer to the movie/DVD releases)? Was there a manufacturing issue? Is it just a matter of trying to meet increasing demand?

This is pure speculation on my part, but I can't imagine it disappearing a la Kraven. Retailers have it for pre-order, it's been publicized for so long (making appearances at the major conventions, appearing on HTS, still showing up at Hasbro's main site, the figures have been well-received by fans... you can't ask for a better set of factors to drum up demand for the figures.

As for City/Winter Soldier, since HTS usually has stock after they start showing up in stores and I don't see ANY retailer with pre-orders for the figures it would indicate that if HTS is going to ship the figures on 8/26/08 (the ship date from their latest e-mail) then they're going to be the first to receive them.

All I was able to get out of Hasbro on Winter Soldier and City in Crisis was that they weren't in stock, which is not the most informative information.
